Almost Famous: 5/5
I have always loved rock and roll. It started when my dad would pick me up and I would tap on his head to the beat of Mr. Brightside by The Killers when I was 3 years old. It followed by me getting into rock music and reading about the music (Just Kids by Patti Smith is my favourite autobiography). The music is amazing and I love it which means I found the soundtrack amazing. But the one thing I have always found most interesting about rock and roll, is the creators. The artists. The chemistry they have between them that is like none others. This movie portrays this chemistry perfectly, better than I could put into words. The costumes were not just costumes and the music was not just music, I felt like everything was real. This did not feel like a movie but a documentary. Which I guess it kind of was. But while watching it, I felt so much. I felt included and happy and understood and comforted and proud. The characters helped me live through a life I never will live and I loved this movie for that. It was so perfect, it had everything to keep me completely hooked: a love story, good music, 70s rock and roll vibes, amazing costumes and haircuts, New York, references and most importantly it had Kate Hudson in the 2000s. This movie was a five stars for me and I would like to here the opinion of someone who rates it less then that for it was perfect to me.

I loved this movie. It was really good. And I mean really good in the way I am sure it is better than the book - which I have not read - and that says a lot for my library is big and I know a good book when I read it. Though, I could not imagine not watching this movie. I feel like a big part of what made it so good to me was that vibe of European summer. The clothes, the languages, the fruits, the architecture, the small ponds with green grass and the blue sky up in the sky. This movie was incredible to the eye of a girl who loves summer. I decided to wait this movie, not cause I was scared I would love it (well yes a little bit) but because I wanted to watch it after having seen Europe for the first time. Which is why I can say that I think it captures its essence perfectly. Plus, dont even get me started on the live story in this movie! It was incredible and super interesting. The complications, the scary feeling of love and the certainty that you belong with someone who you cannot be with. I loved this movie.

Twilight: 5/5
I know Twilight is not a good and acclaimed movie for cinema lovers, but I don't care (imagine me saying this in Bellas voice btw). It is a movie that brings me comfort, not only because it is iconic and I have read the book, but because I find comfort in knowing that it is not real. I know vampires are not real, I don't mean it in that way, I mean it in the way that this movie doesn't talk about the real world and all its troubles. It focuses on fantasies and fake stories, as well as love. I obviously have something for romance stories, but this one is different. Maybe it's Bella Swans iconic wardrobe or the blue filter that gives this mysterious yet addicting vibe to the film. A Lot of people hate that blue filter, but I actually love it: it is what makes Twilight twilight. Anyways, what do I know about good movies? This one is good enough for me. The love story is questionable in a good way, it is something to think about and everyone has different opinions based on their morals. Jacob or Edward: cute lovely friendship or dangerous raw passionate love. As they said and I quote: -The lion fell in love with the lamb- -What a stupid lamb- -What a sick masochistic lion-. This movie is not all dumb and cringe scenes, there are questions one might ask themselves if they analyze it enough. It's a movie which makes me think and wonder: Was it dumb of the lamb to fall in love with something that could kill it, or was it dumb of the lion to run away from that love? It's an amazing question, which the movie really interpreted. The actors might not have deserved an oscar, but there was something in their eyes that captured the motions perfectly. The look in Edwards eyes as he observed Bella changed throughout the movie, and that's one of my favourite parts. The evolution from the first movie to the last of the characters and their relationships is super interesting. I think the hate this movie gets is understandable, but it also deserves a bit of credit and praise. Twilight is classic, maybe it's just not a classic for everyone.

Me and Earl and the dying girl: 4.5/5
This was not a happy movie. You might think it is when you see the characters laughing together or when you see them making silly movies, but its not. This movie crushed me from the inside and out, it left me with a hole in my heart and an uncountable amount of tears on my face. The character did not have the trendiest outfits, the movie did not have the best actors in the world (though they still did an amazing job at capturing each and every single emotion) and the budget might not have been the highest. All that might have mattered if I was a film critic, but I'm not. I'm a teenage girl who watched this in her bed before eating a warm supper. The camera work was good, I think, i did not spend too much time focusing on the cinematography or videography since i was too entrailed in the story and chemistry forming. As I said, a film critic would have said this was good, maybe a bit mid-even movie. But im saying this was a gorgeous and emotionally moving piece of art. The emotions felt during this movie, both from the actors and the one watching the movie, are passionate and real. Nothing felt forced. This movie had some touches of humour, sadness and an undeniable feeling of i-want-it-but-i-know-it-wont-last. It was amazing in my opinion. This is normally the part where I would recommend this movie but I am not sure if I would to anyone. If you are on letterboxd for the cinema and film and raw yearning, this might not be for you. The only thing I got out of this movie was a feeling of- well yeah, just a feeling. I felt it. The movie I mean: I felt it. Maybe not everyone will feel it, but they can try.

Memoir of a snail: 5/5
I am truly at a loss for words after seeing this movie. I am not too sure where to start since I have so many amazing things to say about this movie. I would like to start by telling you the animation was incredible, be it for the style of the artists or for the whole movie being stop-motion. I found it absolutely jaw dropping. Every image, every character, every scene and background, they were all extremely beautiful. It felt like a silly little character in a gray and brown world, it fit the vibe of the movie perfectly. Secondly, the story line was incredible. The way the story is told as if it were someone telling you their paste. It felt like listening to someone read a book to you which they already know the ending to. I had to actually stand up at some points because I was so shocked. I am not sure if I liked this movie so much because I did not have high expectations or because I had no idea it was that deep, but I am glad I watched it. The characters were so well developed and I wanted to know everyone's secrets and all of their life details. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of the Trolls In Boxes art style and the Fantastic Mister Fox or Isle of Dogs vibe.

Knives out: 5/5
Astrid was right, this movie was fire (no pun intended). It combined all of my favourite things and kept me entrailed the whole way through. This perfect mixture of comedy and mystery was delightful. I found myself laughing at certain scenes, yet also at the edge of my seat on others. Everything was perfect, this whodunnit might just be my new favourite. Every character was played perfectly by its actor (ft captain america) and every character was exactly perfectly well written: the creepy son, the old man, the sweet nurse and my favourite old 200 years old lady. It all fit together so well, though I might be unfair since murder movies with the whole big reveal at the end are some of my favourites: this movie was all I needed and all I will ever want.

Kpop demon hunters: 4.5/5
I was fully expecting this to be like Turning Red, but surprisingly I found myself liking this a lot, not only in a children movie way. Obviously the message of the movie was very direct, but it was not just what the movie was about that me in, it was also the characters and the whole world building. Each detail was perfect and I just found it all added up perfectly. Sure the characters were abit stereotypical but they were charming and funny as well.The music, though I do not listen to K-pop, was catchy and I found myself enjoying it. The rhythm to the songs also gave rhythm to the film. I had an incredible time watching this, even though I am not a fan of the music: the characters, music, backgrounds, animations, story and love as well as friendship gave this movie everything to succeed and warm the hearts of those watching it.

The witch: 4.5/5
this was a very goated movie if you know what I mean !! On a deeper level though, this film was extremely good. The characters were so well written and I loved seeing Anya Taylor Joy with a new hairstyle as always (she always seems to have a new haircut and a new hair color in every movie). The script was great and I felt like the 1600s language really added to the atmosphere and overall tone of the movie. Also, the clips were cinematic while also giving this vibe of a real horror movie. Related to that, the color scheme of dark colors was terrifying and made the movie so much more empty and dramatic, which was perfect!

V for Vendetta: 4/5
I stand with the fact that the only reason this movie isn't rated 4.9 on letterboxd is that it was not enough cinematic. Honestly, I will agree, the camera work was a bit awkward sometimes and it felt like you were stuck in one place unable to see anything other than the scene in front of your eyes. I will add that the script did feel cringe sometimes but it wasn't the actors fault, Natalie Portman and the others were okay. Sure, this camera work and script might bring down your review if that's all you're looking at, but I think that to really rate this movie you have to see it, not look at it. It might be a rewatch for you to see all the parallels and connections: the rain vs the fire, the gunpowder treason and the explosion at the parliament, overthrowing the king and overthrowing the government, Eveys parents death and Gordons death, etc. Another detail I really enjoyed was the Guy Frawkes that V wears, it is an exact representation of how he wants his ideas to be remembered: he wants the fundamental ideas of his revolution to be seen and recognized, he does not just want to be idolized as an heroic figure. Except that once you understand that everything is connected, you will get past the visual of the film and it willll click in your head that this dystopian movie is amazingly thought through. Not only for the storyline, but for the ideas that it evoques, the similitude that you see throughout the movie that you might be able to relate to the present. I thought it was an amazing movie with shocking plot twists, but yet again, maybe it was just another dystopian film.
